And as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation and activate the international cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Beni Suef University, and the Faculty of Pharmacy, Université Paris-Saclay, under the Erasmus+ Programme, Prof. Dr. Shahira Fawzy El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Dr. Amira Mourad Abu Youssef, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Project Coordinator, visited the Faculty of Pharmacy at Université Paris-Saclay for one week, from October 12 to 17 of this year.

The visit comes within the framework of supporting academic partnerships between universities, activating student and academic exchange programmes, and strengthening cooperation in pharmaceutical education and scientific research, in addition to exchanging expertise and best practices in developing academic programmes and improving the quality of the educational process. It also aimed to complete the necessary discussions and coordination, follow up on the procedures related to the protocol, and agree on mechanisms for implementation and future cooperation.

During the visit, the two sides explored prospects for joint academic cooperation, exchanged academic and research expertise, and discussed ways to develop academic and research projects. This is expected to help benefit from the international expertise of Université Paris-Saclay and support the State’s direction toward internationalizing higher education and strengthening the international presence of Egyptian universities.

The visit included a tour of several advanced research laboratories and meetings with the Dean of the Faculty and a distinguished group of faculty members at the French university. The meetings addressed ways to enhance academic and research cooperation, exchange expertise, explore opportunities for joint research projects, and discuss mechanisms for student and faculty exchange, as well as academic and research training.

It is worth noting that the agreement between Beni Suef University and Université Paris-Saclay was signed in October 2025 under the Erasmus+ Programme. The agreement included a partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy at Cairo University. This agreement builds on the fruitful cooperation, positive reputation, and distinguished academic performance demonstrated by the master’s students who have been sent by the Faculty to Université Paris-Saclay for more than five years.

Prof. Dr. Amira Mourad Abu Youssef, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research and Project Coordinator, has been responsible for following up on and coordinating the project since its early stages, and working to activate areas of joint cooperation with Université Paris-Saclay, culminating in the completion of the protocol procedures and the strengthening of the academic and institutional partnership between the two sides.
