Official Commencement of Operations at the Drug Design Lab

As part of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Beni Suef University’s commitment to equipping students with labor market skills and enabling them to apply their theoretical knowledge, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shahira El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Dr. Adel Ahmed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nashwa Ahmed Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Gouda, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Department, with the assistance of Mr. Hany Nazmy, Faculty Director, the Drug Design Lab officially commenced operations today, Tuesday, October 6, 2026. This marks an advanced step toward strengthening scientific and academic research at the Faculty.

The importance of the Drug Design Lab lies in its focus on applying Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) techniques and molecular modeling to discover and develop new, highly effective drug compounds before proceeding to the stages of actual chemical synthesis and biological testing.

The Faculty extends its sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Ahmed Gouda for his continuous follow-up on this work.
