As part of the Faculty Administration’s commitment to organizing scientific and cultural visits, primarily aimed at enabling students to gain experience and preparing them for the labor market, as well as raising their awareness of the national strategic projects implemented by the State, a delegation comprising members of the Students for Egypt Student Family and Faculty students made a visit on Monday, October 19, 2026, to the Grifols Egypt Plasma Derivatives Manufacturing Center in 6th of October City. This was the first visit of its kind.

The Center is considered one of Egypt’s most prominent national strategic projects in the healthcare sector, as it is the first integrated plasma derivatives manufacturing center in Egypt and the Middle East and Africa. This major project aims to achieve self-sufficiency in biological medicines and plasma derivatives, which were previously imported in their entirety.

During the visit, students listened to a comprehensive and detailed presentation on the project’s concept and its strategic importance in manufacturing plasma derivatives and medicines derived from them. They were also introduced to the list of medicines successfully produced and manufactured to date.

The students also had a valuable learning experience that included a detailed explanation of the donation process, the criteria for selecting donors, and the advanced standards applied in dealing with them to ensure their safety and comfort.

The visit concluded with an extensive tour of the Center’s facilities, during which the students observed firsthand all stages of the donation process. At the end of the tour, the students expressed their great admiration for the advanced system and the significant knowledge and benefits they had gained from this informative visit.

The Faculty Administration extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Center for its warm welcome and generous hospitality.
