Faculty of Pharmacy Organizes Awareness Seminar on Safe Handling of Chemicals in Laboratories

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni Suef University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shahira Fawzy El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Dr. Iglal Abdel Hamid, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Beni Suef University organized an important awareness seminar on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, entitled “Safe Handling of Chemicals in Laboratories” for first-year students.

The seminar was organized as part of the Faculty’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its students and researchers and raising their awareness of the risks associated with chemicals and the preventive measures required for their safe handling.

The seminar aimed to:

1. Raise awareness of the importance of laboratory safety.
2. Identify the risks associated with chemicals.
3. Learn preventive measures for safe handling.

The seminar witnessed notable attendance and fruitful interaction from first-year students. It addressed the most important occupational health and safety protocols in laboratories and explained how to prevent chemical hazards.

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Moamen Lotfy, Lecturer of Pharmacognosy and Director of the Faculty’s Crisis and Disaster Management Unit.
