Faculty of Pharmacy Hosts Evaluation Committee for “Best Leading Faculty in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” Competition

Under the patronage of Professor Tarek Ali, President of Beni Suef University, and within the framework of the university’s commitment to strengthening its role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and under the guidance of Professor Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Professor Shahira Fawzy El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Professor Eglal Abdel Hamid, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the Faculty of Pharmacy received on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the evaluation committee for the “Best Leading Faculty in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” competition.
The committee included a distinguished group of academic and administrative leaders from the university:
• Professor Zain El-Abidine Abdel-Sattar Adam, Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Advisor to the University President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs
• Professor Sama El-Daq, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Advanced Sciences
• Professor Ibrahim Abdel-Gaied, Former Dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences
• Professor Mabrouk Abdel-Azim, Former Dean of the Faculty of Law and Head of the Sharia Department
• Professor Mohamed Madi, Former Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts
• Mr. Basem Farouk, Director of the Technical Office of the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs
Key Activities of the Visit:
1. Presentation Session:
The visit began with a presentation highlighting the fundamental concepts of environmental sustainability within the Faculty of Pharmacy, including education, scientific research, and community service practices. It also showcased the Faculty’s activities in community engagement and environmental development, as well as the role of the pharmaceutical sector in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals in alignment with Egypt Vision 2030.
2. Inspection Tour:
The committee conducted a field tour covering research laboratories, student laboratories, student project exhibitions, administrative offices, and included meetings with faculty members.
Conclusion of the Visit:
The visit concluded with a discussion of the Faculty’s needs to further enhance its role in research, education, and community service, in support of sustainable development objectives.
